Homemade Easter Tree

Ever Since I can remember my mom had an adorable Easter Egg Tree. For the last few years I have been on a search to find one just like hers and just could not find exactly what I was looking for, so I decided to make one on my own. I got a pot, plaster, paint, decorative eggs, white tape and pussy willows. With some time and effort....tadaaa!!! I made this last year and was so proud of myself. People say I should sell them:) Once again taking the tradition from my mamma and bringing it into our family. I am so thankful we have such great traditions:) I love you mom and dad!

Easter Egg Craking Contest

By now you have to know that I love Easter, but did you know it was my second favorite holiday?I have blogged several times already and this time I will share a bit about a tradition in out family-The Funke Easter Egg Cracking contest!!

My mom and I always decorate our Easter eggs every year!!! When my brothers were younger they enjoyed it and my dad may have dyed one or two but it has dwendled down to mom and I. THE ALL FAMOUS EGG CRACKING CONTEST-We have an egg cracking contest in our family that has been passed down by my mothers side of the family for MANY generations. It is so fun and we always look forward to the contest every year. I think I won three years in a row. YIPPEE!!! Every participant receives two eggs. The youngest player starts (we will call this player A) by turning to the person to their left (player B) and player B holds their egg while player A taps the top of player B's egg. Whichever side has a crack they loose just that round but still has three other chances to win throughout he game. Now player B turns to the player to their left (player C) and repeat the steps. This will continue until ONE PERSON has an uncracked side and that means they are the winner!! Don't forget you have two ends of each egg so you have four chances to win:) Feel free to ask questions if you don't understand. IT IS A BLAST! This will certainly continue to be passeddown to my family as well. Hope you make it a tradition in your family!!! I will update you on the winner on Sunday:) Happy cracking!

Valentines Craft!

I was so excited to wake up on Saturday morning and start my fantastic Valentines Day craft idea for my friends, family and neighbors. It is so fun when you get so "giddy" about the little things:). Not sure where I got my inspiration for this but I will have to say it came out of no where so this is what I came up with. Hope you ENJOY it as much as I did.

What you will need:

Pretzels:
Heat the white chocolate bark according to package directions. Simply dip the pretzel rod in the chocolate and turn while you are dipping to make sure you cover it well.

Place it down on a wire rack, (put wax paper under or you will have a mess if you do not)and allow the white chocolate to dry.

Heat your pink and red chocolate separately as directed (about 30 sec, then stir, then another 30-40).

Dip a fork in the red chocolate and shake back and forth over the pretzels, repeat with pink. (you can use whichever utensil you would like but I found the fork to do the trick. Keep in mind you can spread the colored chocolate over 4-6 sticks at a time, much faster that way).

Packaging:
I use Nashville Wraps to order all of my paper, ribbon, bags etc. I started using this site when I needed some items for my guest baskets for the wedding and have been in love ever since. I ordered the raffia ribbon in white, pink and red and then ordered the cellophane baggies. See below:

Labels:

Jennifer told me about the labels she found on one of our favorite blogs we follow, Fly through our window. Check it out it is so easy and fun!

Let me know how it turns out!!! A lot of you wanted to know how I did so here I am to share it with you. Happy Valentines day y'all!!! xoxo

A Little Obsessed....

Return address labels by Letter Girl ! WOW! I can not tell you how excited I am about this find; however I can not take credit for this one, Pink Wallpaper did a post on these adorable labels and I could not resist but to share it with ya'll. I think we all have the same return label makers by PSA Essentials (although they have a new peel and stick stamp which isawesome. Check out the video), which I love but these by Letter Girl are refreshing. They are also great for wedding return address labels since they have so many different options that can be a little more formal. So Emily, my soon to be sister-in-law, this one is for you:) xoxo

Also, what adorable label maker stamps they have for gift tags for presents from baby gifts to birthdays and hostess gifts. Perfect for all ages!!!! OBSESSED!!!

"Frames For the Babe"

I love trying to think of cute crafty gifts to give to friends. Need a great gift for the arrival of a little one, or a congratulatory gift for a mommy to be? See the cute frames that I made for friends.

Sweet Maggie Grace loves her pink and green frame and it looks great in her nursery.

You can personalize the frames until mommy and daddy find a picture of their choice. Our newest little baby friend, T.J's daddy loves Tim Tebow so I put a picture of Time Tebow in the frame. T.J is already a huge Gators fan!

Instructions:
Simply get your wooden frames at Michaels. First, paint the frame the color of your choice. Then you take round sponge brushes and paint the dots on the frame, let dry and then tie with a ribbon of your choice. Last, find a cute picture out of a magazine. Happy framing:)
